Recommended Posts

I have been reading up on some foods for post op, I am still on liquids till next week then mushy. But was thinking about trying this when I can get to the crunch phase. I see these dry roasted and then I have seen you can eat them steamed. Wanted some opinions. They are high in Protein.< /p>

I'm preop still and loved it as an afternoon snack. I've wondered about if it was a sleeve friendly item. I certainly hope so

They are better than most snack foods. I eat them steamed and shelled in salad and I eat the steamed in pod as a snack. I will eat too many of the dry roasted, so I don't buy them.

I love them both steamed and dry roasted. Sometimes I get so busy at work that I can forget to snack like I know I should, so the dry roasted come in handy in a pinch. I keep a small bag in my purse in case I get stuck in traffic, too.

I love them bit some people don't like the fact that they have soy in them.

Specifically, they are soy Beans. Edamame is the Japanese name for them. In Japan, they are the bar snack of choice, kinda like pretzels or peanuts here.

Looks like I will be putting these on my list of food once I can have them! Going to try them both ways.

I buy the frozen bowls of them at costco, 12 to a pack and we steam them and sprinkle with salt and cayenne pepper. Nom nom nom. We used to eat them instead of popcorn while watching a movie, because they take a while to enjoy, and fewer calories and carbs than buttered popcorn.

Can't wait to get to enjoy them again.

I eat these daily for a snack. They also have spicy ones. I eat the steamed as well.

They are awesome, but do not have to be dry. melons are excellent Snacks this time of year, and cucumbers with a tart yogurt are most awesome. Hummus, seaweed, nom, nom. dates pureed and a dollop on a frozen peach sliced thin is just perfect in the heat.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
