So frustrating! I've been stuck at the same exact weight (to the decimal point lol) for about 2 weeks now! I started at the gym this past week, been eating my protein...haven't started carbs yet. I don't understand why? Any tips? Oh! And I'm 8 weeks in...

Not as far out as you are, but from what I've been reading around here, we're all likely to hit several of these on our way to goal. The recommendation of vets is usually to stay the course, look for NSVs, and don't forget to take your measurements periodically, look at before and current photos, review your #s, etc. so you are reminded of the progress you have made regardless of what the stoopid scale says right now! There's a blog post around here somewhere that claims including avocado (particularly substituting this healthy fat for a not so healthy fat) can be helpful. When I've hit stalls during weightloss prior to surgery, I've always changed something to break it. I'd reevaluate my diet: have extra calories snuck back in or am I maybe not eating enough? Do I need to readjust my macronutrients? Too many processed foods? Eating the same items day after day? How can I eat "cleaner"? And reevaluate my activity: Too much, not enough, not enough variety? Has my fitness improved and therefore my output/effort decreased? Too much cardio and not enough weights? Getting bored and complacent? Need to find something new?

There is also an article floating around multiple places here that explains what is happening during a temp stall, your body is replacing glycogen and Water. Weight doesn't drop at that time, but once that replacement period is over, you can expect to lose again.

I'm almost 4 months out and have hit several stalls, but they all break. I'm a stair step loser. Stalls are frustrating to say the least, but they do break. It's very normal.

You're welcome! I'm really glad it helps! My posts tend to ramble, but it's always in an effort to provide as much as I can in case it's useful!

I am 8 weeks post-op as well and I feel your pain. I have lost 4 pounds this month. I hit a stall, lost 4 pounds and hit another stall. Frustrating!

Sorry lady Laura and I have no idea on how it works! I just want to sympathize . It seems others are in the same boat as me. I came home from the hospital and was down 15 . Three weeks later up 2. I do everything I'm suppose too, I get hungry a lot too? I thought I'd go back to work and people could tell. Really sad ????

It really is frustrating. I'm even more frustrated now because after all this time with the stall, I weighed myself this morning and I am UP over a pound! :( Ugh! :(

Me too exactly! I'm at 8weeks too and have been stuck for the last two weeks.

Maybe there's something about 8 weeks, like the famous 3 week stall??? I never stalled then, this is the first and it's making me crazy!!

It's just frustrating. I mean...this happened many times before the surgery with the many, many diets I tried. I would plateau...but, I did something drastic, so now I'm thinking that I just did this so this wouldnt happen! Then it does! LOL I know it has to be normal because you can't just drop, drop, drop, etc....(though wouldnt that be nice lol). Still frustrating though...

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
