Intellectual property! I'm in real property. How does one go about switching specialties?

I would imagine working for a small-medium sized general practice firm where there may be some cross-over or cross-training. It's hard once you've begun travelling down a particular path to change course, as I'm sure you know...

I am RTRM (mammographer). It was partly my patients that helped me make my decision to have my sleeve done! Seeing first hand many, MANY very overweight and obese women telling me how their" weight gain got worse the older they got"! I have had to help young women in their 50's unable to stand undress themselves- I have heard countless stories of health problems caused from obesity! It's different when you hear it from the skinny news anchor or even your own doctor. Most of these women have no reason to discuss what they do with me however they do and I have been listening.... I had the surgery I have lost 55lbs since my surgery on 11-14-12. I have been struggling lately but I am trying to get back in the groove!

I like this thread even though it was started months ago! I'm a pharmaceutical sales rep! :) To my knowledge, I've never seen anyone else on here with my job... Tons of nurses though!

I have not been sleeved yet.. u guessed right though if you guessed... A NURSE!! LOL. Im wondering if our patients have made us gain this weight, u know conspiracy theory! They appreciate all that nurses do for them or their loved ones, bringing in delicious treats or what nots

I am a nurse as well. I have been in the medical field since I was 19.

Honestly. I think working nights for 20 years was the hardest thing on my body and PART of the reason I steadily gained weight. Poor sleep habits, eating habits etc. But that's just my opinion.

Happiness to all. :)

Great this tread is still active. This Respiratory Therapist is now sleeved. Surgery was 2/3/14 and I can say all is well. No problems sipping, getting my fluids and Protein in. Walking is going well my OR IV fluids has come off nicely and as of today I am down 5 lbs from Monday morning. I think about the Stephen King movie "Thinner" when I see myself begin to melt. I'm on my way. 2014 is my year!!!

Wow. I wish there were a way to track, by percentage, everyone's professions. Seems to be a lot of medical professionals here. I own several hundred acres of agricultural land that I lease to local farmers. I get bi-annual income checks, which creates a real interesting way of budgeting my personal finances. My "real" job is being a single mother to two girls and playing around on my own small-scale hobby farm.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
