Brushing your teeth and bad breath

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on 7/15- I've noticed when I brush my teeth it causes weird and uncomfortable burning in my chest. Does anyone else experience this??

I also feel like my breath stinks all day long and is dry! It's annoying and gross! I don't know what to do about it! I'm brushing my teeth 2-3 times a day just like I did before surgery.

Ya I went through something similar with the bsd breath. It lasted for about a month or so. I was told it was the ketoses phase. We r buring off all the badvstuff in our body. I'm almost 3 mths out n its gone.

I am 10 weeks out and my ass breath has finally disappeared. It's ketosis, I believe and it causes a coppery smelling funk that won't go away. I used Listerine strips which covered the smell for the most part, but I swear, when I woke up in the morning, my room reeked of my breath. It was foul.

This will pass, I promise.

It is the ketones in your body. I would get it every time I did Atkins. I called it monkey ass breath. It will go away as your diet get more back to normal.

Hang in there! :)

Check your math, chicky! I am just OVER halfway. And that's my stretch goal! I would be happy at 160, 150 is a dream.

Math is hard! In my defense, I'd only had half a cup of coffee and well, I'm special! :P

Go for your dream! I'm really proud of you. You did not have an easy go of things in the beginning!

Oh....coffee.... I haven't tried that yet. MMMmmm...

I am so happy! I can't believe how easy/hard this has been but it's been worth every minute. I can do things I haven't done in years and I'm not afraid to (literally) work my ass off at my martial arts school, at kickboxing, at the pool. AND!!! I am no longer afraid to go into the dressing room with an armful of pretty clothes because damage WILL BE DONE to my debit card. WOOOT!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
