I just found out yesterday that I've been getting to many grams of Protein for me to only 5 weeks out. (97plus). And over 700 cals. To much Protein means to many calories. Talked to my NUT yesterday and he told me to be careful. I've been using a scale and should use the 1/4 oz measuring cup for volume not scale for weight. I was scared that I wasn't getting enough protein when I ate to I drank the Protein drinks in between meals. THIS IS A NO NO! So yesterday I joined fat secret.com so my Proteins and cals can be added for me once I entered what I ate. I've loss 29 lbs in 5 weeks, it's possible I could have loss more.

That's good you found out now so you can make the adjustment immediately. There is something to say about post op follow-up. Great job.

Every bodies amount of Protein is different that's why we have to work with our Nut.. Because it changes as u go thru your weight loss and the amount of exercise we do ...in the beginning I was @ 100gr of protein then as I loss weight it has come down ,, after surgery it changed again ... & when I start working out its going to change again :)

What can you possibly eat that you have time to both prepare and consume that has the required 60-80 G Protein a day?

You'd be surprised! While I hoped I was getting enough Protein I was going over 90g of protein. Add up the little things to, the 1 tbsp oils(olive oil), 2tbsp of cheese, 10 black olives, everything! And this is on top of 3oz chicken breast and 1/4c collards etc. Any and all things. Fat serect.com help me keep track now.

Sorry for the copy/paste. I don't prepare dishes as it's just me. Kids are out of the house so not feeding a family. I do 6 mini meals a day. Some stand bys for me are hot choc /decaf (15g) . 2 light mozzarella string cheese (12g). Chobani Lemon Greek Yogurt (15g). Boars Head Ever-roast deli chicken 2 oz (13g). Al Fresco chicken sausage (14g). Morningstar Spicy Black Bean Burger (11g).1 pouch tuna/1/2 c 1% cottage cheese (31g). Gortons Simply Bake Tilapia (20g). unjury Protein powder 1 scoop/8 oz skim milk (29g) and sometimes I add 2 T of PB2 which brings it to 34g. Each one of these standbys is 1 mini meal for me. I don't have room for anything after eating it. Don't eat them all on the same day but keep my cals under 900 for the day. I shoot for 90g a day. Sorry for the run on paragraph. My enter key is not working ONLY on this website. Have contacted Alex/Tech but no solution yet.

I'll be taking your list to the grocery store with me. Thanks for the tips!

They are the best I have tried so far and I have tried a lot of them. I drink 2 a day still and each is 30g, 160 calories and very very low sugar. The chocolate is the best!! You can buy them at Sam's and costco. Give em a try! :)

I think I'm going to try them. I am a member of BJs but might have to try Sams or costco. Since they are the only ones I keep hearing about that I haven't tried, seems worth the investment.

I found them on a bottom shelf at my Walmart in the vitamin/ supplement isle. The ones from SAMs/Costco are large packs. The one I found at Walmart was a 4 pack. I plan to buy some today if I ever get enough motivation to leave the house! Lol.. Maybe a Walmart near you would have the 4pack so you can try it out

WOW I feel like a complete failure... I am almost a month out and I am only getting in 30-40g a day :( and that is a good day. I have been trying to do my Protein Shakes but my they do not agree with my sleeve at all, so I have been trying to get it from my food but I can only eat 2-4oz at a time so that doesn't really do much... Guess I am going to have to keep trying till I figure out something that works for me.

I'm in the same boat you are in. I hate Protein Shakes and they usually don't agree with me... It's hard but we can do it...

I'm in that boat too. The Protein shakes make me sick and cheese gives me intant diarrhea. Lactose intolerance.

My mainstay is meats. Deli meats, the insides of Arby's sandwiches, gyro meats, chicken, pork tenderloin. I can do cottage cheese and/or greek yogurt on a good day.

I'm 6 weeks today and going in for checkup in a couple days. Hoping they add eggs, nuts, and some other things cuz this very limited menu is getting old.

I was the exact same way. I threw up every shake or Protein Drink I tried of all the different types of Protein. You will get there- it may just take you a while :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
