Pain in my collar bone after eating?

Recommended Posts

Every time I eat and get full, I get a pain in my left collar bone/shoulder area...it's sort of a pinched nerve kinda pain. I'm 8 weeks out today, and this has been happening ever since the surgery. It's not super painful or anything, but it's uncomfortable and lasts for about 20 minutes before going away.

Anyone else experience this? Does anyone know what causes it?

This happened to me a lot in my first few weeks and then one day it just didn't happen anymore. I took Gas-X and Tylenol and found that it helped some. I'm just over nine weeks out now and it hasn't happened in a long time.

I get gas pains in my left shoulder and under my left rib cage area. Uncomfortable but not extremely painful.

I first I thought it was gas, but should I still be having gas issues 8 weeks out?

I dunno I am only 5 days out and have that pain... Assuming its gas bc i had it in surgeries prior to this one and it was always gas.

Try eating smaller bites and chewing more. Avoiding swallowing air.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
