Also, I think with scaring it just depends what type of healer you are. Some people get the bumpy look(forget what it's called) and others heal very well and it would be hard to find their scars.

A family member of mine had Thyroid cancer and they open up her neck from ear to ear. A year later, I have to really look closely to see the scar. She wears low cut shirts and no makeup and honestly, you can barely see her scars. She's in remission. Lucky woman - in more ways than one!

I think scar damage depends on heredity as well, I am a cancer survivor and I had an access port sewn into my right upper chest/shoulder area. You have to look very very hard to see the scars now 1.5 years later. If I put some cover up on it, you wouldn't be able to see it at all.

How about Peter Jackson (director of Lord of the Rings)? He's looking much thinner these days. And what about Billy Bob Thornton? He was heavy for a long time before hooking up with Angelina Jolie. What a freak show the two of them together were! But he's managed to keep the weight off for a good 10 years now. Maybe he had the lapband done in Europe.

Didn't the one nurse on ER have bypass or something? She dropped a HUGE amount really fast between seasons, then began gaining some back---I don't even know if she is on the show anymore.

She actually did the liquid diet @ the Duke Weight Loss Center. Ruben Studdard recently did the same thing.

Star Jones has a weird looking head too. Like her skull bones are too big. It just looks odd like she might fall over from the weight of her head.
You know, I have noticed that about a lot of RNY patients. Not necessarily when you see them in person, but in pictures.

Hi, I love John Goodman from Roseanne. He is adoreable. Maybe it would help him in his obesity battle to get banded. He is an attractive man. He would be even more handsome if he dropped the weight. What about John candy? Had he lived would he have had surgery?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
