Pre-op: How bad is it that I just added ramen noodles flavor sachet (only) to my broth? :-S

Recommended Posts

It tasted UH-MAZING!!!! lol. There are pretty much no carbs in it as the egg noodles were thrown out. I'm sure there are at least a few, but hardly anymore than 8g, if at all. Otherwise, there is no sugar....I just worry about all that soy lecithin!!!! Either way.....I'm transferring to home made broth/stock post-op from the bouillon variety (there's no Protein....wtfudge). Gonna go make some and freeze it in cup sizes for that exact use today. I have 4 quarts of the good stuff on the freeze but.......it isn't portioned so it's pretty unrealistic to try and unfreeze that, unless I'm making a large batch of something. That's actually what I'm saving it for.

Anywho....first day of pre-op diet today. So far I've had (last night after 12am) 1 Premier Protein, a whole cucumber in lemon and some spicy chat masala goodness (Punjabi's in the house? ;-) ), and (this morning for breakfast) 1 1/2 cup of broth with the ramen noodle shrimp flavored sachet, and 1 scoop unflavored unjury! MAN that ish was gooooooooood! LOL.

Haven't been too hungry honestly. Just the normal "mmm...that looks good, can't have it" mentality kicking in LOL. Even things I normally wouldn't care for are looking good now I know I've got three days of nothing but broth and Protein shakes. But honestly, if it stays this way it'll be a cinch. It's hunger that I can't handle.........no mental hunger really phases me anymore. B)

However....I think that was my last experiment with ramen noodle flavor sachets lol. I don't want a little thing like that possibly causing issues with my surgery because of all those "unknown" ingredients.....

My surgeon actually suggests using those in your broth for more of a "kick."

Half a punjabi, does that count? :) On pre-op we used the Maggi Masala flavor I'm our powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup. Today my husband used taco seasoning in it. Tastes better to us. Hoping we'll be able to do spicy food again soon. I sooo want some dal fry for my full liquids in a week but not sure if its a good idea or not. Have you tried dal yet?

I used it too. It is high in sodium so don't over do it

I'd kill for dal right about now. I tried some of the clear Soup from a chicken shorba curry and it gave me the usual...err....bathroom problems LOL. Sorry for that bit. But in any case that's as far as I've ventured in desi ville as of yet. Otherwise...can't wait to try some chicken chili blenderized when I get to the pureed part tomorrow. Will cook it up and blend small portions to see how well I do.

Ugh....I want me some Pakoras though!!!! lol

I use the Mrs. Grass noodle Soup and toss the noodles. It's quick delicious. :)

Isn't that weird? The part we would, have loved in the old days is the part we now have to throw out!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
