Dr. Rumbaut or Rodriguez?

Recommended Posts

I have found a couple websites for Mexico banding and there are two doctors that seem to be very qualified and sound really familiar from all the posts I have read in the past.

I was just wondering if someone could tell me their experiences with either of them. The reason why I ask is I want to submit my info to them for more information about their services.

Thanks all.

Peace,

Judy

I don't know either Drs. Have you tried using the search function? It is in the middle of the blue title bar. Put each Drs. name in seperate and see what comes up. That was very helpful to me when I was researching my two choices.

Good luck!

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Rumbaut and his team. I don't regret for a second having my surgery with him. He is so friendly and positive, as is his whole team. He's also very experienced.

I wish I could go back to Mexico for my fills because I'd love to see the team again, but it's more cost effective for me to get them done here. I do plan on eventually going back though to check in with him, maybe once a year.

Judy, I used Dr. Rumbaut, too. The entire experience was great and I honestly believe that my lack of pain post-op and my quick recovery was due in large part to his surgical skill. I would repeat my banding with him in a minute.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to PM or email me.

I was going to use Dr. Rumbault, but his U.S. based staff was sooooo rude! Especially Cathy. I had alot of questions and they did not do a good job of answering many of them, They would be late returning phone calls and e-mails and got annoyed at questions. Another firend who is also in the medical field also had many questions as us medical folk do and they also treated her badly. She stayed with him and did well...I switched to wonderful Dr. Aceves!! He is a great surgeon, sweet as can be, caring, etc. His staff is wonderful and Nina or Gabt take care of you from the beginning without involving a U. S. coordinator at all, so they are sooooo nice from the frist secon you talk to them. They answered every question IMMEDIETLY and were happy to help. I would go to him again for any surgery at all...gladly! THe price by the way is alot lower $8,500 as opposed to $11,600? Same quality! Link Below

I am sure that the Mexico staff for Dr. Rumbault is ownderful, but the U.S. one is not good at all! I will be callin Dr. Rumbaut to complain in a couple of weeks. I waited until the NEw Year and let myself heal, holidays go by etc. but now I need to let him know why I switched doctors. I am Doc myself and I would fire my staff if they treated anyone the way I was treated!

Wow, that's not the experience I had at all. I mostly dealt with Jessie and mainly through e-mail, but I had all my questions answered and never felt like I was bothering them.

That's too bad.

Cathy was my US coordinator and she was wonderful! In fact, on my bandiversary (19th of this month), I plan on emailing her again. I've emailed a few times in the past year and she's always responded and been very nice. I remember, when I was still worrying about having this surgery, that I called her on my cell and sat in a parking lot talking to her for about 45 minutes. She helped me so much!

Angela, I'm sorry that your experience wasn't the same. Sometimes, people just rub each other the wrong way. I'm glad that your banding worked out with Dr. Aceves.

So sorry to hear about the issue with Dr. Rumbaut. He did my surgery a little over a year ago. It was an amazing experience. I was completely impressed with the US staff. And my experience in MX was so awesome. I had very very little pain after surgery. Heck Dr. Rumbaut and his team all visited me at my hotel three times prior to leaving! I have nothing but great things to say about him!

I used Dr. Ortiz in Mexico. His staff was so attentive. They always answered my calls even during the holidays any time. I even get Dr. Ortiz's cell phone that I can call anytime, 24 hours a day.

I had a great experience, 3 days post of and feeling really good!

His website is obesitycontrolcenter.com

To funny AngelaT I had the same problem with Cathy that you did. She was so rude and unprofessional that is why I decided not to go with Dr. Rumbaut. I had read wonderful things about him so that is why I inquired... I think he would do much better if he cut ties with her. I spoke with her several times and one time she was so short with me and ugly that she even thought twice about and called me back and gave a very un-sincere apology. I thought if this is going to be main contact and if I have any problems then I am in huge trouble so she was a VERY big red flag and I decided to go elsewhere. Good Luck to everyone!:nervous

hi Judy,

I had my surgery with Dr. Rumbaut on Nov 21. He and his staff were very good, same thing goes for the hospital. Recovery was fast and not too painful. Within a few weeks I felt like if I never had surgery.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
