I'm a leaker

I had VSG on July 1st, and upon a trip to the ER on the 5th due to EXTREME pain it was discovered I have a leak. I was taken back into surgery that night and a drain was placed, my surgeon also attempted to repair the leak with glue but it did not hold. I had a PICC placed the 6th and have been NPO since the 5th. It's really a waiting game trying to get my body to heal and my white blood cell count under control so I can go home.

This is horrible, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

I'm ok, I had a follow up CT Thursday, there was some debate as to if the leak is closed or not so I drank blue dye and waited 24 hours to see if it showed in my drain. It never did! I've been able to

Thank you for sharing with us - hope you get better...

Thinking of you. Hope you get better soon. Hang in there.

How did this happen?

Sorry to hear this hope all is good for you real soon :-)

I'm very sorry to hear this! I hope you recover soon. I'm so afraid of having a leak after surgery.

So sorry to hear this! I had a leak also, but thankfully it resolved on its own. I was very sick in the meantime though. Will keep you in my prayers!

I was sleeved the 1st also... Sorry you have a leak... My surgeon said the best thing to do for a leak is the drain and leave it alone, give it time to heal on their own. Take care... Hope you get to feeling better soon.

I hope your recovery quickly and I will send some prayers up for you!! Keep the faith I will all work out!! :)

I'm so sorry to hear this. Praying this will heal soon.

Hope you feel better...hugs to you!

This is not a leak in her incision site. She's hospitalized due to a leak in her staple line of her sleeve. This is an extremely serious issue and can not be left alone

OP.. Prayers and thoughts your way.. Hang in there!

You are in my prayers!!!! Hope you have super quick recovery!!!! Is the pain any better?

Actually it is treated by a drain being placed, I'm NPO and it has to heal on its own, though I am in the hospital being very closely monitored they aren't doing anything to help it heal, other than having me NPO.
