  1. Is no drinking before and after eating a forever thing? What did your Dr/NUT say? I am really not missing the drinking during the meal part but the timing the before/after time is a drag. Especially when I am behind on fluids for the day.
  2. Sorry but I must correct myself: it's the multi vit. That you keep away from dairy not the calcium. I just rechecked my sheet from NUT.
  3. Sorry didn't mean to hijack the post but I must correct myself: it's the multi vit. That you keep away from dairy not the calcium. I just rechecked my sheet from NUT.
  4. Don, yes multi has iron and NUT said not to do calcium close to dairy
  5. I am trying to find my routine: sip, sip, sip you need 64 oz, but stop 30 mins prior-eat slow-wait 30 mins after eating, drink your protein- need 80 grams, but don't take your calcium within 30 mins of dairy, take your multi vitamin twice a day but not close to your calcium, start introducing soft foods. I can't get my routine down?
  6. Shribhi, how do you get all that in? I am only 3.5 weeks out and introducing soft foods and can't figure how to get all in?
  7. First day back to work today and it felt like I was playing the child's game, Red Light (wait 30 minutes, eat, wait 30 minutes); Green Light, (sip, sip, sip!) and trying to work! My head is swimming! I can't get it all in? I was so out of sync, when I got home my husband had boiled some chicken for dinner. I felt bad because I drank a Protein shake on the way home trying to catch up. I asked him to give me a few moments because of the protein but mindlessly kept sipping realizing once I got my serving, oh wait, I have to wait 30 minutes before I can eat! I know it's not that difficult, many of you are doing it but I was frustrated today just not finding the rhythm of it all today. Any suggestions on how to get it all in? Every time my boss came over I had a drink to my mouth. I feel like coming up with a gadget to come up with hands free sipping but o,yeah no straws. Welcome to my new life:-) and btw I am loving my sleeve!
  8. Butter and cheese.. That has Protein, right? Now that's what I'm thinking with some salt and pepper, yum!

  11. Ouch! Good point! Guess I have got to retrain the brain :-)
  12. I am nearly 3 weeks out and I think the NUT told me grits were okay for soft foods but no seed or skins, I am having a hard time thinking grits are okay but want some so bad!

  20. Wow Malexa, that sounds dangerous! So glad we all got repaired vsggrandma! Doc said mine was covered by a chunk of fat and he moved it and found it. He had pictures of the repair with the chunk of fat secured back in place. I said, why didn't you remove that too! LOL
  21. Patty, with my h. Hernia he just need a couple of stitches. Do you have a date yet?
  22. MissyJoy, me too! I miss-typed they had to tell me 3 times POST-OP. crazy isn't it! He used a cow's heart membrane to seal it. Of course the first question is where did you get that from? Are they normal hospital inventory? LOL! But the surgical rep was in the hospital that day and had one, really? The first words my surgeon said when I woke was, " you made me work hard for this one, three hours later you got hiatal hernia repair, your gall bladder full of stones removed, repair to the large hole in your diaphragm and your new sleeve!" I said, uh thanks! LOL
