Hey JourneyToLife :) how are you feeling otherwise? I'm 2 weeks out and having a hard time with the fluids on top of 70g Protein a day.

My Dietician told me that I should consider all liquids as part of the Fluid intake. I'm 5 days out and I am doing good with Water. It's the protein consumption. I can't wait until I can transition into mushy foods.

Feeling tired today only got 3 walks in normally I can get 4 or 5. I guess it's my body saying take a break. I guess I should be recording my protein, right?

Congrats to all the newbies' date=' and I would first all like to apologize to anyone I have offended. I did not mean it to come across that way. I type in caps to emphasis, not yell, I know how important this surgery is to all. I was a stroke victim waiting to happen, my PCP even told me that I was being Pro active by having this surgery. I had the surgery 4 months after my mom passed away from you guessed it .... strokes. .... I wish you all the best and success....[/quote']

I thought you were motivating us. No offense here. Im just 3wk post op and I originally lost 27 pounds but now ive gained 7 bk. I think some of the apple juice I had was too sugary. I was drinking a lot bc I was constipated. Ive been retaining Fluid too. Im lost bc it is only 3 weeks. I exercise 2 a day. Any advice would be appreciated.

My surgery was Monday, so I am 3 days post op.. The only complaints I have is the burping. I can't say a complete sentence without burping loud multiple times. It's annoying and embarrassing. Also, the two discharge paperwork I received (dr office and one from hospital) were contradicting on whether I should be taking Protein my first week. Luckily, my cousin is a nurse and called to check up on me to make sure I was walking and sipping. When she mentioned protein I was like umm my paperwork says no. She said no way, go look again. And of course they were contradicting each other. Called the dr office who confirmed that I should be on protein and I haven't done it until this afternoon :/. But I thank my cousin greatly for catching this.

I couldn't handle anything until 3 full days after surgery except Clear Liquids. :-). I try to burp every time I take a drink. I want to avoid the gas pains.

Hi everyone!...I was in the ER for maybe one hour then discharged. They taped the drain with steri tape, which came off last night so I taped it down with gauze and tape. My doctor is out of town so I spoke with the doc that takes patients when my doc can't. He said if the drain starts coming out, just let it come out and assured me that it's not a problem, it happens....I'm thinking about removing this gauze and tape and letting it come on out! I need it out...its aggravating and hurts if I hit it. It already started coming out last night but it was pushed back in. Just felt funny being pushed back in. I feel it's hindering my healing. Other than that im doing great and feel great!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
