I am having a revision done in 11 days and would appreciate it if you would share your experiences with weight loss and/or complications.

I had my lap band removed sept 2012. I was sleeved January 2013. I have lost more weight with the sleeve then I did the 4 years that I had the band. I'm a slow loser but I have been losing. Yes I had the 3 week stall but I'm still happy. Tomorrow I will be 6 months out and have lost 50 lbs. starting weight 230. Current 180.

Best thing I've done was removing the band! I waited 10 wks to heal and was sleeved. No regrets whatsoever!!!

I was band in 2005, I stared leaking in the port and replacement band done 2006, then had hernia operation but when they got in there was no hernia just that. Band was to high up, that was 2007. I have been sick off and till they unfilled me in 3/2013. I was unband and sleeved at the same time on 6/25...I had a lot of spasms after the surgery. My Dr said I had a lot scare tissue and my band had slipped, which we didn't know until the surgery so it took me along time to heal.I had to spend 3 extra days in the hospital but with all that being said, this is the best thing I have done. The first week I have lost 13lb. Today I feel normal. Wow

I am 9 weeks post revision tomorrow and feel great. No more throwing up and pain when eating. For me the sleeve surgery was much easier than the band surgery. I was up and about 5 days post op and back to normal activity minus the lifting by 7 days. I had no pain just soreness and the worse thing for me was no bowl movement for 12 days lol! You will do great!

Had my revision 6 days ago. So glad to have the band out. It took the dr 30 minutes to cut my band out cuz it had embedded into my stomach. It still hurts. Had my band 2009 (almost 4 yrs ago) and lost 104 lbs in the first 18 mths. Had a slip last year and gained 20. It actually herniated about 4 mths ago and had it totally unfilled and awaited revision. So, I first have to work on the 30 lbs I gained then the final 14 lbs I had to goal.

I loved my band. I was so sorry to not feel it work anymore I know I would've gained back every one of those lbs I had lost without the sleeve. I'm still in pain, but I keep looking to my future, when I won't hurt when I hiccup or get out of bed.

So glad he got to my band in time for no more damage. I probly would've had 2 separate surgeries if it had done anymore damage

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
