My pre-op liquid is 9 days long' date=' so you should be OK. I wouldn't drink the magnesium citrate or anything like that b/c you'll only bemessing with yourself more. I think you will probably feel crappy when that stuff hits your blood stream after a week of Protein shakes! This is the last diet you will have to do without your helpful new tool![/quote']

YIPPEE!

Don't worry about it. I am not condoning it but I also get it! I had a bucket list of restaurants that I went to before I started by liquid diet. This helped me to get through it. I don't think you messed up your surgery date at all. If you are really hungry and need something my surgeon told me an occasional small piece of lean meat with some steamed veggies was just fine. Hang in there!

thank you!

Don't beat yourself up. Just get back on the diet. Thank goodness we have this forum to help us out. Just so you don't go to McDonalds again. They are the biggest worm manufacturer in America. Maybe that will keep you away. Good luck.

So jealous, but I really think this phase is preparing me for after surgery. I have been buying all my Vitamin addins for my Protein shakes, chewables and so on. I can tell you that the Callogen powder in my morning shakes have everyone saying that my skin is glowing. Go figure. I was using it to combat the hair thinning issue ahead of time. I have also ordered Omega 3 pouches, calcitrate and a bunch of other supplements. Good luck with your 3 days of restriction. Do you know what liquids are considered clear? I have to do that for a full day. Thanks.

What shakes did you choose to use for the pre-op diet? I start my liquid diet on the 29th and my NUT suggests Atkins ready to drink shakes.

A few years back my husband and myself were watching I think it might have been the discovery channel not sure. How mcdonalds isn't just the food industry that they do a lot of other things. They manufacture worms for fishing and science studies. ( I'm not saying the worms are in their food). HOWEVER. I love their southwest salads only 460 calories with dressing & chicken.< /p>

I have been drinking the atkins shakes for years and I really like them. I have recently discovered that combining a 1/2 cup skim milk with my Vitamin powders (callogen) tastes really good and makes the drink less sweet.

I guess that is where everyone is different b/c I can't stand the Atkins shakes! Clear liquid for me is definedas anything I can see through. Jello, popsicles, apple juice, sprite, broth. I am allowed to have items with caloriesduring my clear liquid day.

I'll definitely give it a try. Which flavors do you prefer? I read reviews that the creamy chocolate is best. But, I would like to purchase a couple flavors for a variety.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
