Hope they cover you!!!! I also just had a high bmi of 58. I live in Massachusetts and have bc/bs. I was approved right away. I just have to pay deductible and copays. I'm scheduled for surgery August 12th. Good luck. Try having your doctor write a letter of medical necessity.

Pre Op Diet Disaster
A few years back my husband and myself were watching I think it might have been the discovery channel not sure. How mcdonalds isn't just the food industry that they do a lot of other things. They manufacture worms for fishing and science studies. ( I'm not saying the worms are in their food). HOWEVER. I love their southwest salads only 460 calories with dressing & chicken.

Pre Op Diet Disaster
Don't beat yourself up. Just get back on the diet. Thank goodness we have this forum to help us out. Just so you don't go to McDonalds again. They are the biggest worm manufacturer in America. Maybe that will keep you away. Good luck.

My journey begins.

- My journey begins.
I started my journey on May 20th 2013. My highest weight was 385lbs and I am 5'5. I've seen the phychatrist twice and the dietician once so far. I had all my blood work done and did both of my required support group meetings. I just had my endoscope yesterday. I've met with my surgeon already as well. So now I have one more appointment with the dietician next week. Hopefully then I will get a date. About six years ago, I fell out of the shower. Long story short. I ended up with 3 herniated discs and nerve damage in my left leg and foot. Growing up I was always over weight but since I got hurt this is my highest. Before I would level off between 303 - 333 lbs. I tried weight watchers which did work but I gained it back. I tried several diets with no long term success. So here I am. Now in this stage of the game I've been trying new protein and vitamin products to find the ones I can tolerate. I think I have that down. I would like to do a utube video. I tried once already but I didn't post it. I'm not that comfortable in front of the camera. Thank you for listening to my story. I'm excited that I found this app. I hope to learn a lot from everyone. - Leftover Pork Chops & Roast
