I would have had my surgery at the hospital I work at, but my Insurance Company denied me. Why? Because I haven't worked there for 24 consecutive months. I worked there for 10 years, left for 4, and came back 16 months ago. Because it took 3 months for my insurance to kick in, I would have had to wait till next June. I didn't want to be 200 pounds for another year, and if I'd lost 20 pounds, my BMI would be too low. I have very few co-morbidities so I would have had to put up a fight to get approved. They wouldn't give me a discount for "self pay", so I'm going to Mexico. Orlando Health sucks !!
