You've had the surgery. You're on your new journey. What are the little (and big) things that make you smile?

Shopping in the normal sized section of stores.

Getting sweaty at the gym, instead of being in pain and dreading it.

Looking and feeling 100 times better than I did before surgery.

Too many things to list!

As OP said - too many things to say here make me smile :)

thats another reason to smile :)

i "just" love being out and about in public - strrutting my stuff  ,

going into a "regular" size stall at a public bathroom

and using a "regular" size changing room

I also enjoying my newfounded sex life

DH really enjoys it too

growth of my self-confidence

life gets better and better

that fact puts a big smile on me too :)

Going closet shopping and fitting into "incremental goal" clothes I bought on clearance "hoping" that I might fit into them at some point. I even get to cut off the tags before I wear them. :)

When I think about how skinny I am now and notice when others are looking at me.....

when I am having dinner and I'm just a little bit buzzed and I look down and realize how tiny my body is now.....

When I fit into my jeans and I look into the mirror.....I'm like "Wowwwwwwwwwww!"

I go to the mall and notice a skinny chick walking near, thinking I want to be that skinny, and then I realize, that's me! :P

Having a normal bs panel......DB in control........:P

This is wonderful in more ways then one. :P

Seeing my collarbone. Buying size 4's and 6's. Not being the biggest girl in the room. Feeling like I am in control now, food is not. Someone referring to ME as being small, skinny or petite. The chubby girl inside smiles! :)

Still putting way too much on my plate ( like I always did) and having to quit eating after 2 minutes. Plate still mostly ful.

Not trying things on in the store and getting home to find I've bought clothes that are too big - Again.

When my 15 yr old son walks up and says "Mom you are quite a bit smaller"

Sitting in my favorite chair at night and noticing that my legs look like they must belong to someone else. Those thinner legs can't possibly be mine.

Noticing that the people who looked at me strangely when I told them I was running off to Mexico to have most of my stomach removed are now looking at me like they wish losing weight was as easy for them. Haha! I don't bother to tell them that this hasn't exactly been then easiest thing I've ever done.

After 3 months of feeling bad and just not myself after surgery, now I'm feeling real good and I am thankful for it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
