Today's The Big Day!

Recommended Posts

I'm off to the hospital in the next hour or so--arrival time for surgery is 10 a.m.! Wish me luck--I'm so nervous I can barely see straight--I'm so eager to be on the sleeved side!

I'll try to post as soon as I'm coherent and able to check in with you guys!

I hope it went well. I was sleeved on July 1st, I am home and feeling pretty good. Excited to start my new life!

It went off without a hitch--now my only issues seem to be getting all my fluids in, and finding a way to tame the terrible tummy growls/twists that happen every time I take a sip.

Other than that, I would say I'm at about 85% of my usual energy levels.

Congratulations. I'm glad to hear everything went ok. I hope my surgery goes as smooth as yours.

I am glad it went well. I am having the same troubles with my stomach. Takes me forever to get my meds in. Today I have to get 64oz in.

My postop diet is the following:

weeks 1-3 liquids(clear the first week then full the next two weeks)

week 4 pureed

week 5 soft diet

It is going ok since I don't feel hunger but I am always thirsty. I do not like Jello and the broth makes me nauseous. So I am very limited here with options. I am counting the hours until Monday when I have my postop appointment and can start full liquids.

What is your postop diet?

My surgeon had me spend the day of surgery on IV fluids only (nothing by mouth).

The next day, I was allowed Water at Breakfast, and Clear Liquids at lunch.< /p>

At dinner on day 2 I was allowed full liquids, and after breakfast on day 3 I was discharged.

I'm assigned to full liquids for the next two weeks; then I'll graduate to mushy/pureed foods.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
