Anyone else getting sleeved in August?

Recommended Posts

I don't think it's a option' date=' I think it's the Dr.'s choice. At least I wasn't given one, I was told how the procedure would be done, 5 incisions. I know that I won't have a drain, which is good for me. They hurt like hell.[/quote']

Makes sense. My doc does everything one incision via the belly button and I'm just wondering if anyone has done it that way and if so what was the recovery process like.

My EDG is in the morning at 7:00. Just wondering how it was?????

Let us know how yours went when you are up to it.

I am still in the pre-op testing phase. My EDG is Tuesday 8/6. My sleep study is 8/9! I would love to begin my 2wk pre-op diet on 8/12 so I can get it done by the end of the month. My 2wk vacation is my window of opportunity.

Hello' date=' all! I was hoping for a July surgery, but no such luck <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> I'm having mine August 6th. I start my pre-op liquid diet on July 23rd...not looking forward to that.

Lots of changes coming up for me....I'm moving August 3rd, surgery on the 6th, my son moves into college dorms sometime during the week of the 10th....talk about stressed out <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Good luck to everyone![/quote']

I would like to get a consensus: how many of you are going with the one incision or multiple incision sleeve??

I am having single incision surgery on August 6th. I chose my surgeon specifically because he does this procedure. If you'd like, you can message me and I'll let you know how it goes.

That's very cool, you're lucky to have had a choice, my insurance had a few Dr's to choose from but only 2 that had very high ratings and recommendations, along with the hospital being a center of excellence, so I went with the Dr. I knew a few people who've gotten their WLS with and in my meeting with him, he was pretty amazing. So I'm happy. As long as I don't have to have Jackson pratt drains, I'm ok. Lol! Good luck with your surgery! Keep us posted! :)

Aww, you're lucky! Lol but it's ok, I'm cool with my insurance paying for my surgery considering how much I pay to have insurance!

Best of luck. What are your next steps?

I've started my pre-op all liquid diet that I'll be in for two weeks....then I will be sleeved!

How about you?

I was told by my surgeon I cannot have single incision bc of possible scar tissue or adhesions from my lap band. He wants to be able to see from both directions. So 5 more incisions for me :-(

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
