It was either July 17th or wait until the end of August so now it is happening a couple weeks earlier then I had in my head, which is actually good. I am cleaning out cupboards and the fridge and making my lists.

This is going to go quickly.

Thank you! Good luck to you as well. I wish for you much success and happiness on your journey.

I had my final visit with the surgeon and the nutritionist today. Had a whole bunch of tests today and now it is just one week to go.

I have been shopping and preparing for the after. I don't feel anxious or excited yet, just resolved is the word that comes to mind. I want the next part of my life to start. It is time.

So how did your guy's surgeries go? Mine seemed simple enough. I'm went home the next day. I haven't had much pain, but some. sleeping at home the first night was rough. I think I was trying to lay down too much. So last night I slept propped up in bed more and that seemed to work well.

I've been able to get liquids down better each day so far. So so far, so good I think. How about you?

I was sleeved on the 17th as well. Today I start unrestricted liquids (protein shakes, blended strained Soups etc.) and I'm nervous about starting. I woke up today with diarreah, the first BM since surgery. Not sure if that 's normal or not.

I had mine the 17th and came home yesterday afternoon.

The worst thing of the whole hospital stay was the binder thing that they wanted me to wear after. I was so constricted and so hot and my roommate was a vent nazi. The room was about 85 and the air was stale and it was so uncomfortable. The staff at Good Shepard was amazing. Just wonderful and made everything bearable.

I have been working my way through Protein and liquids today. I am going to go to the store with my daughter to get more creamed low fat Soup. The sweet of everything else is overwhelming and I am over it. I had some cream of chicken and it tasted so good.

Left the hospital with liquid vicodin and Miralax.

Honestly, it hurts ten times less than I thought it would. Feels sore but it is getting better every day.

I'm new here, and also had my surgery on July 17. I'm feeling pretty great today, and really looking forward to being able to have mushy foods--I'm actually craving scrambled eggs and refried Beans right now. I'm also hoping that will make it easier for me to get my Protein in since I'm having a hard time getting more than 40-50 grams/day right now.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
