I swallowed a piece of him

Recommended Posts

I snorted.

You're not the only one! Haha! Anyways, I think you should be fine with the gum. You're stomach is still good at digesting, only thing you've limited was the "fitting" aspect of it, so if it were a problem you would have had it come out one way or another by now. Just try be careful lol. (I've done it before though haha....no avoiding it. That stuff is slippery!)

I had my surgery on the 8th of April and just a few minutes ago I had a piece of gum in my mouth and I started laughing and I swallowed my gum should I be worried

Lol

Made my morning! Thought but was gonna be a Dirty Post lol

:)

My dietitian said to be careful if u chew gun cuz swallowing it can cause a blocked stoma --? Not quite sure what that I think it's an opening- your newly out I'm sure ill be ok

But

I'd call your surgeons office now and talk to them- maybe they need to do an X-ray to bake sure it's ok just to be safe

I thought we were not allowed gum? I thought after surgery there was no gum because it lets you suck in more air Same is not using a straw or is that maybe only. While you're recovering ?

Gum? Bummer! Move along folks, there's nothing to see here lol. Seriously, since you didn't have bypass (stoma) I wouldn't worry about it too much. It'll all come out in the end(pun intended).

Yea I was told to stay away from it for awhile but once my Dr put me back on a regular foods I started chewing it again. I haven't had any trouble so far. I'm a pretty fast healer I was at the gym just a few days after my surgery. So that's why I chew it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
