I didn't have any pain meds after surgery!! That's good. I was starting to wonder if I even had surgery but the soreness at the incision sites were a reminder. Oh and the gas. Lol

You're so lucky miss_cee. I would not worry at all ! I only take mine at night. I had loads of gas pain after surgery. It is almost gone now (5 days later). Glad you are doing so well. I graduated to puree foods today :)

My surgery is set for Aug. 21 2013. I am very nervous. How long is the recovery time? And how much am I expected to lose in one week? Am I able to go back to work within a week? Workaholic here. : (

Nervousness is okay , just calm your mind knowing how well your health will be afterwards. I say it depends on your job. Office or (light duty) I would say give yourself 5-7 days. Any lifting or movement of the body while working I would wait 2 weeks or more. Hope that helps.

I took the meds :-) why not take them and feel excellent? They helped me sleep too since sleeping was usually rough! If the offer them don't dismiss them! SO GLAD everyone is doing well!!!! Keep it up SassyGal and MissCee!

How's everyone August post opers doing thus far? I'm 6 days post op and getting bored with this liquid diet.< /p>

I am also bored I am on day 9, surgery is Tuesday, and I am so ready to get at it...for me the worst part of this diet is being at work, I am on 12 hour shifts at the prison and its gets frustrating trying to maintain when u have ur co-workers trying to shove food down ur throat....uugghh....

Met my surgeon yesterday and did the pre-admission testing...I dropped 2lbs...I officially didn't start the pre-op until 8/12. My surgery is Monday 8/19 but I don't know the time yet. She is doing two of us on that day...I hope I'm second...lol

I'm getting so nervous! Pre op diet starts Saturday, I'm having dinner with a friend Friday night it's my only real big last meal type thing, otherwise I've just ate my norm these past few months. Thankfully my mom is doing it with me (5 cases of Premier Protein sitting in my room, we get 3 a day and two small meals) next Tuesday I go in for pre admission testing, pay co pays and any last minute paperwork. I won't lie I'm terrified for that, a patient in my surgeons practice received the call the night before surgery that she was anemic and they were postponing the surgery. I have no history of that, and I have been taking my Vitamins I should hopefully be good. I have all of my post op prescriptions filled and on my shelf, Miralax, gas x, and all the anti emetics and ppi and of course the pain killers. I have a small list of items I need for the 24 hour clear liquid before surgery and some post op liquids and I should be good. The 27th will be here before I know it.

I have found that GNC AMP protein is not THAT bad. The Cookies and cream mixed with Water is actually pretty good. It mixes smooth and doesn't have a bad after taste. Good thing about GNC.. if you don't like it... take it back and they will refund you :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
