Collarbones

Recommended Posts

I love my collar bones but my wtf moment was when I hit my hip bone with my wrist. I looked up thinking something was resting there like a book or whatever. I realized what it was and just sat there not really comprehending it. Then I got the biggest grin! Now whenever I lay on my side I'm always touching them lol!

I had a similar moment.. except I thought I'd developed some sort of calcified growth in my pelvic area. In total horror and mild panic, I reached for my partners hand to drag it to the location. With total bemusement, he uttered 'thats your hip bone, baby'.

Now, there's an expensive education for you down the toilet!

<I do molest myself regularly as a consequence now :D>

As I laid down last night in bed. I found not only my ribs but the little tab between my ribs at the top. I forget the name of it. A thought came to mind that if someone had to do CPR on me. It would be easier. Lol. Strange thought I know.

Haha. I found a little bump where my ribs meet at the bottom of my chest and first thing I thought "Cancer!" Thought the same thing about the lump on my right collarbone. My doctor managed to keep a straight face while telling me both were normal at my age (57).

Also, my elbows bumped my hipbones a lot when sitting before I got used to them poking out.

I'm wide hipped, so I also have a huge gap between my thighs when standing.

So true about the collar bones and hip bones. i've also noticed cheek bones. The other bone i'm feeling a lot lately is my tail bone and it really hurts when sitting on the floor to do exercises. I guess I always had a lot of cushion there before now it hurts to sit on a hard surface.

I can totally agree with the bump between my ribs at the bottom (xiphoid process).

I actually went to see my doctor stating I found a lump. He didn't keep a straight face :)

I still say it was never this big, I have been thin before and don't remember noticing it.

I like my collar bones too.

Lynda- you just made me laugh out loud on the cancer "scare". Oh to have thigh gap! The dream!

I remember collar bones as one of my first nsv however my hip bones just confused me. I couldn't figure what they were, I thought something was wrong with me.

and the inside of my kneecaps are hard. if I lay on my side with legs together they actually hurt a bit! no cushioning (or not as much!) in fact if I sit with knees touching there is daylight between upper thighs. I don't remember having that even when I weighed much less than this! the things we appreciate now - collarbones, kneecaps, ribs, hip bones - a appreciate my skeleton so much more now. it used to have to carry around 100+ more pounds! it is about time I appreciated it!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
