I'm on day 9 post-op and been on full liquid since I had the sleeve done. I guess each doctor is different, so I would call and ask them, or contact your nutritionist and ask...

Mine was a week on clears! The doc said no Protein powders added to anything, just focus on getting down the liquid.. I could drink any sugar free drinks and he told me to drink a little bit of juice cut with Water just to get a little bit of sugar into my system. I could also have any homemade clear broths... he was very specific to tell me homemade broths, though I'm sure that canned ones would have been fine.... I could also have sugar free jell-o. and popcicles.. oddly, I could also have coffee which I know is a no-no on many programs but I was allowed two cups a day... The only clear drink I wasn't supposed to have was anything with citrus as it is irritating to a new sleeve.

Once I got off of clears my diet progressed quickly.. I was only one week at each stage.. one week on full liquids, one week on purees, one week on mushies etc.

Mine was clear liquids til my first followup. Tomorrow is that first followup. I can't stomach the broth anymore so it's all about Popsicles and Jello. Mine also was no Protein focus, don't add any, the Protein starts after the first post op appointment.

No liquid only phase at all post-op; mushes and soft Proteins as tolerated and Protein Drinks used to flesh out the Protein numbers.

I vow that I will ask my surgeon what I can and cannot eat/drink for the first 6 weeks.

I was on clear liquids for the 2 days in hospital. Then each stage (4 stages) afterwards was 10 days. It was frustrating, but I was so afraid if I got off course, I'd be in the ER. So I stuck with each stage for 10 days and had no problems at all. Sleeved on 11/7/2012 & down 56 lbs. Was actually down 25 lbs at my 4 week post op.

I'm June 14th too!!!!

I'm on 2 weeks liquid but 4 days of that was in the hospital on the drip. The way my doctor explains it is that I can have anything that fits through a straw :)

Weight loss was rapid from day of surgery up until maybe 7 mons out. I'm at the stage now that it may appear I'm not losing, but I'm actually losing about 5 lbs a mon now.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
