Them biotches told me that if I wasn't up every 90 minutes' date=' they would get me up. Hmph.[/quote']

You must have been one of THOSE patients! :D

It is VERY important to walk walk walk. Lessens risk of blood clot, pneumonia, and moves the gas out. But I'm sure y'all know that. Taking my nurse hat back off now and getting back into my patient gown. ;)

Do nurses get special gowns that actually cover your ass or did you have to have yours hanging out like the rest of us minions? :o

Do you not remember my post about undies? No, all patients have to be equally embarrassed, nurses/ doctors/ cops/ judges... It's the only way to keep the nurses who are caring for us happy! ;)

I wear a second gown thrown over my shoulders as a cape when out walking. No need to traumatize visiting children by accidental streaking!

I loved pushing my pee bag down the hall! Are you kidding? It made me feel so decadent and classy!!

Epic quote of the day.

One of "those"!?!?!?! I was nicknamed Speedy Gonzales because I lapped everyone in the hall. I hate sitting still and they were killing me with all the check ins. I ran the halls because it was the only way I could work out a toot. Tooting was AWESOME.

I changed into my yoga shorts and night shirt within 4 hours of surgery. Said to the nurse "you dont mind do you since I am going to be up walking" as I walked oit my door for my second lap around the floor. ((Grin))

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone! I got home just about an hour ago. Wow, getting all your fluids in is a job. You really can't stop sipping the whole time you are awake!

And man, I wish I had known about those pneumatic booties. It's hard to sleep when you feel like you're being kicked in the bottom of your feet at random intervals! So glad to be done with those!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
