Finally went for a #2 last night and today I've hot period like symptoms even though I haven't had a period in over a year as I have the contraceptive implant in? I'm baffled as to what it can be and hopng this slight bleeding is nothing serious :(

I have Mirena and got my period 2 days after surgery. I know two others with Mirena who never get periods who got theirs right after surgery. One person's nurse explained it was a reaction to body trauma. My period was weird, too, not regular stuff. It passed in 3 days like usual. But definitely call your doctor if you're concerned.

Thank you so much mayfly. This has put my mind at rest. If bleeding gets worse or lasts longer than 3-4 days I shall give them a call back. Thank you for replying x

I don't think I start Protein until I see my doctor on Thursday , yesterday I felt so weak but the Gatorade I drank really helped . I've been staying positive during this whole process and telling myself ill be okay and recovery will go well and I am honestly feeling great for only being 5 days post op ! It's all about the positive mindset :)

But ! My starting weight was 265 and as of this morning I'm 253 :)

Since the barium swallow and all it's nastiness I'm so sensitive to smell and taste. Like my husband brought home the liquid codeine all I had to do was look at it and was so nauseated had to just put it away before I puked

OMG - The barium swallow was horrific! It made me nauseated almost immediately and I was nauseous for a whole day! But, on the bright side, I know that my new tummy has no leaks and I am really happy about that!

I really really just want to scream. I go from being positive to about to cry. I'm all about this but - I freaking need a purée in my life. Taking another sip of chicken broth is making me insane. I'm mostly going insane because the paper on eating guidelines they gave me at the hospital and the book I received prior to surgery are inconsistent. I am not feeling regret because I know this is going to improve daily but I am feeling really frustrated.

I know what you mean ! I can't even have chicken broth literally the only things I can stand is Gatorade , Water and occasionally an ice pop . I was hanging out with my friends yesterday and they made burgers and cheese fries .. It was literally torture . We can do it though !!!

I'm with ya. I'm so grumpy that nobody in my house wants to be around me. I'm really not trying to be but I just feel like crud. My stomach does nothing but churn if I sit down, I can't stray far from the bathroom, I'd love to chew something and about all I can stand are SF Popsicles, the broth from Top Ramen and propel Water. This too shall pass..... Right??

Oh yeah, I'm grumpy as hell. I freaked out on my husband. Twice. I felt better after taking a walk but I didn't want to go. And exercise is as much fun as it has ever been.

BUT! I've lost some weight and I'm going to lose some more. So that's good. We can get through it.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
