Out of curiosity I've been looking at how many calories all my favorite fast food meals were. No wonder I have a weight problem my favorite Burger King meal that I've been eating since a young teen is 1,370 calories! At Taco Bell all my favorite foods are 500+ calories per item and I would have ordered 2-3 items per meal. I'm just shocked. :-O

I'm almost positive I use to consume about 3,000 calories per day or more just looking at the calories of things I'd eat from day to day. Now I'm lucky if I hit 400 calories per day (3 weeks post op).

Yeah, before surgery I was on the "drive thru" diet. Much quicker and easier than cooking. But the calories....sheesh.

My favorite fast food meal came from Jack in the box. I would get the ultimate cheese burger meal the cheese burger was 818 calories and the fires was 557 calories for a total of 1375 calories. Its surprise how much I use to eat. Now I may eat 600 to 700 calories in a day.

It boggles the mind how many calories are in fast food! And there is no wonder that I gained so much weight being a mom on the go and it just makes life so much easier when you can run through the drive through and pick up your ready made food for you and your family. Man, I was doing this to my kids too!

I have found that now that I track my calories on MFP ap that I am much more aware of what goes into my mouth and what I stay away from. My husband has gotten on board as well and if we go out to eat, we look up the options and try to weigh out the best option. Before, my main thought was how to decided between my two favorite choices at a restaurant.

Sure is eye opening!

Susie you are so right about doing this to our kids as well. My kids have completely changed their eating habits along with me and are now aware of what goes in their bodies. This new life has paid off for my whole family!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
