Calling all June 11 sleevers

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on June 11th. My Dr required 2 weeks of liquid diet, but it could include cream Soups and yogurt. After the first 2 weeks I was able to progress to "soft foods". Basically anything not crunchy, no fresh fruits or veggies, no nuts, popcorn or seeds, no bread rice or Pasta. But anything else was allowed. The NUT said to concentrate on Protein first, and if still hungry then veggies. I am eating almost strictly protein right now. I do 2-6 ounce Protein Shakes a day, 30g protein each. I have no problem getting my protein. I think because I really like the shakes, and they are only 6 ounces, so easy to get down. I use Isopure low carb chocolate. I do ok with Water and other liquids. Not the 64 I should have, but I am close, usually around 40. I eat mostly dannon light and fit greek yogurt, 12g protein each. I usually have 2 of those daily. Then various other foods, turkey meatballs, Tomato Soup, chili, string cheese, deli turkey, baked fish, tuna salad, egg drop Soup. Lots of crystal lite, unsweetened homemade iced Decaf tea, sugar free Cappuccino mix, hawiian punch sugar free mixes, sugar free fudgcicles. I miss crunchy things, and veggies. I'm not tired at all, but I think everyone is different. I had no problems with energy, even a few days after surgery I was back to normal. I think a lot of that has to do with my being able to get in my protein easily tho.

That sounds so great! Good job! How much are you down? And do you have any advice for the soon to be sleeved :)

Happy 8 week Anniversary to the June 11 sleevers! I am certainly not losing like I thought I would; it's going down though, slowly but surely! How is everyone else doing?

Me neither as far as losing as much as I thought I would be @ this point, but I blame a lot of it on myself. I'm not getting in the Protein I need. It makes me gag. But some loss is better than no loss. My hair is also thinning. :(

It's a small pill, I don't crush anything anymore, take all my pills normally now.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
