Every time I drink I get a horrible feeling. I thought I was taking too big of drinks. How often does everyone drink. I know I'm not getting in 32+ oz. I could drink more but I don't want to blow or rupture my stomach... do you just continually sip??? I feel like I drink then have to wait for my stomach to empty. Did anyone struggle with liquids? ? Oh and used to pee all day everyday now barely at all... help!!!!!

The first week I had to work up to swallowing 1oz at a time. You should be sipping sipping sipping almost all day long. It's a chore but you must get those fluids in. And if you're not peeing and/or your pee is dark, you aren't getting enough fluids.

Hang in there, it gets better!

Your right. I've just gotta sip all day..... its so hard when two teeny sips makes me not feel like I could Handle another for a hour. How often does the stomach empty liquids.. is it straight through since its liquid...I wish I asked more questions to my doctor... :(

I was sleeved Monday too! Today was the first day I was able to get a Protein Shake in. I know I hve to do better but it is so hard to drink more than 2 tiny sips! Glad I am not alone. I haven't even added the Protein Powder since I have barely eaten!

Is anyone having pains in their back/shoulder/neck? This is killing me!

Try crushed ice....it helps to get your liquids in. One or two pieces instead of sipping...helped me get thru the first few weeks. I bought bags of crushed ice from my local Sonic Drive In. Having pains in the neck/back and shoulders...use a heating pad. I was told that the anesthesia would cause that discomfort and the heating pad would help with that.

On another thread someone else said she did an ounce every 15min. Sorry would credit if i could remember who it was... but that does give u 8oz every two hrs. Still pre-sleeve so can't advise myself. :-)

I love the sonic crushed ice idea. I'm on it tomorrow.... :) and sip every 15.. I am just reintroducing Proteins and I can't even handle basic liquids. The pain in your chest upper abdomen and shoulder could be gas still from surgery the best thing for that is walking and movement.... I had to walk walk walk..... thanks for the advise goodluck on your journey. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
