Normal. Joining myfitnesspal.com helps too' date=' track your calories although that first stall post op is completely normal. I stalled for nearly an entire month when I hit that three week post op mark. I was eating next to zero calories too.[/quote']

That's good to know. Thanks for posting. It seems quite normal reading through this thread now! I also have my fitness pal ap. what can I say... I love it!

I have lost 19 lbs since 05.08.13 sleeve, but it has been 1-2 lbs a week for last 2. My doctor said after 2 weeks post-op your weight loss will slow to 1-2- lbs a weeks until 2-3 months out and then will pick up a lot. Inches will keep coming off though.

I know I'm eating what I'm supposed to and doing my exercises so I'm not going to stress. I think it is such a blessing we have this opportunity and we should be proud our ourselves for making the sacrifices we do to better our lives. The weight will come off in time.

So grateful to be able to share with each other.

I'm going into week 4 and the scale is stuck here too. Not complaining, just sharing that you're probably not doing it right if you don't have the dreaded week 3 stall. Lol!

It's interesting you dr said that. My dr didn't tell me anything about how much ill lose and time frames. I hope you're right for all our sakes!! Lol

My scale stopped at 2 weeks and didn't move an ounce for 3 weeks... remember that your body has to adjust. Think about how much you are eating. It is impossible not to lose weight when you compare it to how much you were eating. I wanted to see it go down fast and it probably will but give your body time to adjust. After that stall, I didn't stall again for 7 months so it was well worth it! You are not going to be the only person this doesn't work for I promise! (I say that because that is what I thought!) Just try to relax and concentrate on learning about your new eating habits and it will come... off that is! I am sure we will see all of your tickers dropping soon! Just hang in there!! :D

This is the most encouraging news I've heard in a while. I lost great for 2 weeks and then only 1/2 lb a week for the past 3 weeks. Im keeping calories under 700 day and getting all my protien and Water in. Thanks for the encouragement it just makes me more determined to stay the course! 7 months with not stall sounds great!

Ty for posting this question. I am 2 and a half weeks out from surgery (5/21). I have lost 18 pounds in this time but stalled out 4 days ago. I was getting between 200-300 cal a day and could not understand why I would stop losing so soon. I had many complications with arthritis and thought maybe it was because I am less active than most people. My joints are already thanking me as I am standing and walking better now than I have in the last couple years! I continue to walk a little more each day and am starting some strength building exercises at my Y. All this is great but I still couldn't help but to wonder if I am doing something wrong or that my body is so insanely messed up that it could hold my weight on just a few hundred calories a day. Thanks to everyone who posted in this thread as I can now breathe a sigh of relief and trust that it will continue to improve as time goes on.

Hello everyone my suggestion to all if u want to drop weight a lot faster is to stick with meats and vegetables for like 10 days then go off for 2 day eating anything u want. This is a low carb high Protein diet. U don't have to count calories. The weight will fall off fast. Reminder u will lose inches at first then u will see a huge drop in pounds. It like doing the dr Atkins diet stick to lean meats. Remember not to eat anything white for it have plenty carbs. Limit is 30 carbs a day wit average stomach so maybe cut that in half. Good luck and hang in there.

The scale will lie to you. Take your measurements. I was dropping inches like crazy and while posting minimal weight loss (especially those first few months). Also it is very common for people to not lose week three. Your body is making adjustments.

Also a very helpful article on stalls:

http://www.dsfacts.c...or-plateau.html

I really appreciated that article. I will definitely try to keep that info in mind when it comes time for me to have surgery and I"m hitting that 3 week mark. Also a good reminder not to rely solely on the scale when measuring progress, it's not always an accurate representation.

Thanks!

I wasn't worried when my weight stayed the same for a couple days...but then I gained a pound! I lost it...then gained 2!

I think I got discouraged and scared and just ate a handful of potato chips to make myself feel better. Am I going to have this tony stomach, not be able to eat what others eat...and Gain weight?!

I've lst 16# since May 13. And another 21# in the 2 months leaving up to surgery. (I did better BEFORE surgery!!

Anyways I have an appt with surgeon on June 18. Worried ill still only be at 16# down...or worse, gain more wight. I didn't eat healthy this weekend as we had pot luck bbq's to attend. I made the best choices I could. (Minus the chips of course)

Will behave. Got it out of my system. The good news is that I'm only able to eat a Handful of chips and not a bowl or bagful...

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
