It can't all have come off my face!

Recommended Posts

If my friend tells me one more time how much weight she thinks I have lost off my face, I will scream.

I have lost 25lbs since op six weeks ago and 17lbs prior to that, a grand total of three stones, with the same again to go. I am delighted.

But every time we meet, she only comments on how well I am doing by referencing how thin my face is....but never mentions the fact that I am 3-4 clothes sizes smaller! I am close to shouting at her next time IT CAN'T ALL HAVE COME OFF MY FACE!!!

Then she goes on about her need to lose 8lbs... maybe I should comment "if that's going to come off your face, how much are you aiming for off your body?" but I don't think she'd get the irony

:-(((((

Thanks for listening....

LOL.. You must have one of those faces that really changes with weightloss. I think we all have friends who don't think about what they're saying.. Sometimes we'll never know why people say the crap they do. Some people are honestly clueless.. And yet, some people have a motive for the gibe they send our way. I totally understand your rant.

Thanks, was beginning to think I was being overly sensitive ;-) As a 50 something don't want my face to collapse and I am never sure if that's what she's hinting at...

However, as can sometimes be the case, if I behaved like this to her, she would get really upset. Oh well, seeing her tomorrow to get a face update, lol.

Sounds like a friend of mine going on about how much weight she's gaining during her pregnancy and how much she hates it...today I told her "It's hard to muster any sympathy when I still weigh 70 more pounds than you." I don't even have the luxury of attributing my chunkiness to a human growing inside me. ;)

Since I read this post I keep thinking of my friend who is not only a perfect 10 in every way.. She's nice! But she's clueless to how her remarks are taken. She was telling me she quit chewing gum because she heard it bloats your body and makes you look fat. Seriously?

Indigo1991

WooHoo

congrats

42 lbs down, gone, flush down the toilet

I don't "think" your friend is meaning to be unkind

some people just don't realize what they are saying

ignorance is bliss????

i'm in my 50's too - but i'm not gonna tell you that i'm 59 :o

ooooops i think i just said it

alas my loose skin is definitely there

just kindof hangin' around

but........i'd rather have a little excess skin in my face - than llllots of fat around my body

your friend complains that she needs to lose 80 lbs???

tell her the first 75 lbs she loses will be in her face

nawwwww - just tell her that the weight comes off different parts of your body

there is no definiate one place where the weight leaves at first

the weight loss in your face will show frequently at first as your losing weight

but my goodness - losing all that other weight - and she doesn't comment on anything but your face???

sorry about that

i'm here to tell you that i see B) in your beautiful eyes that you look terrific alllll over

don't let her or anyone else get you down

you know whats going on, thats all that counts

keep being a winner by losing

continued good luck

keep up the great job

kathy

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
