I was sleeved 5/29...I awoke pretty nauseated but they gave me a shot right away and it took care of it. No pain at all even 6 days post op. Just stomach spasams. Good luck to you guys! I have to say my experience with surgery and the overnights were great!

Lol-

My stomach is all messed up. I think from nerves and not eating normally. My show time is 1030 TOMMORROW w surgery at noon. I am happy but know I will be starving like crazy again for hours.

I'm not sure why my phone capitalized Tomm.

WHAT??! What happened? Weren't you supposed to have surgery this morning? I'm so sorry! That must be awful to have to psych yourself out again for tomorrow?

It's unbelievable, but the OR lost power right before they were going to call me back. I had been there for hours & had 2 bags of IV Fluid.

I'm not scheduled until noon so I'm going to try & stay up really late. That way I don't have to sit & starve all morning...

Oh wow! Well then thank God you weren't in the middle of surgery when they lost power! :o I will say a prayer for you that everything runs smoothly tomorrow & that you won't feel hungry. Good luck akmys!

Did any of you get the shot before they put the IV in? The last surgery I had I wussed out and got the numbing baby shot in my hand which some people say isn't worth it cause the shot hurts about the same as the IV lol

I did receive a shot of lidocaine before the IV was placed. I also had some medicine I had inhale through my mouth to numb my throat, that way my throat would not be sore after surgery. And my throat isn't sore. Mouth extremely dry.

I will be starting my liquids at 6 am

OMG I could not even imagine how much that would suck lol. So, did they send you home or you are there till surgery tomorrow?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
