Hey everyone! I got my sleeve on may 23rd. I was 223 when I went in. One week later I lost 12 lbs, I'm starting to get frustrated because I haven't lost any more for almost a week. Is that normal? I wish I could go to the gym, but all I can do is walk. I feel fine, I have been back to work for a week now and I'm healing great.

Lauralee - the exact same thing happened to me. First week after surgery, lost like 10 lbs, then NOTHING for the next 7 days!! I was getting frustrated too until I talked to a friend who reminded me that my body is traumatized, freaking out, and healing. We get it in our minds that we are just going to lose lose lose - but I had to really have a talk with myself to not be frustrated or annoyed if the scale doesn't move every day. My second week I would actually gain a pound here and there. Think about it logically - there is NO WAY you are really not going to lose weight...I don't think you are cruising thru the Taco Bell drive through :) lol!!!

Just be patient with your body and measure your inches!! I lost those when I wasn't losing weight :) Keep up the good work!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
