ive actually seen higher weight losses...but i know i wont lose anywhere close to that amt every week. My starting weight was 268lbs and I'm 5'9". My weight on thursday (one week post op ) was 247lbs. I only wanna weigh once per week. My surgery was on May 23rd. On my app I cannot see profile pics so I cannot return the compliment wholeheartedly but I'm sure you look good too..thanks for the compliment. My goal weight is 165

I am 4 days post op and am so confused on what to "eat". I have been drinking ensure Protein drinks' date=' that are a Meal Replacement, not just Protein. I am not having any issues with drinking. I actually just drank a whole 14 oz bottle and as I was reading through my literature I am only supposed to drink 2 oz. Even if I drink 2 oz, 6 times per day, I will only get about 20 grams of protein in. I have not been full yet on anything and am drinking about 80 oz of Water per day. Any advise would be appreciated.[/quote']

I am drinking 12 oz of Protein shakes at 11 days post op. my Dr said no ensure!!! You need a low cal, low carb, low sugar protein that has about 20 grams of protein. I drink pure protein (Walmart )

23 Grams protein and sunkist liquid Protein that has 25 G protein

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
