I have been sticking 2 it but it is truely a hard thing 2 do. What I do is when I feel like cheating I tell myself that they are going 2 open me up & close me right back up if my liver has not shrunk....& I been thru 2 much 4 that. It would be devastating 2 have 2 stay off work 2 recover from the places that they opened & STILL be fat. No no no, eating a sandwich or pizza or whatver is NOT worth that. I hope this helps

I did horrible on my pre op diet. Everyday I would try but its almost like your a drug addict, but the drug is all around you all of the time. I did better on my 4 day pre op liquid diet. On the 4 days I did liquid all day but a 4-6 oz baked mahi fish fillet at night. My surgery went OK and am 25 lbs down in 4 weeks.

I failed miserably during the ore-op. I had individuals on this board tell me i should cancel surgery, that I wasn't ready for it because I couldn't stick to the 10 day ore-op.

I'm happy to tell you I was sleeved on May 3 and am down 27lbs.

I'm in no way encouraging you to ignore the ore-op diet - but I am telling you it is not necessarily a measure of your readiness.

If I had the perseverance to stick to diets in general I wouldn't have needed this surgery.

I wish you the best of luck. Hang in there and try your best but don't beat yourself up at this point.

You can do this!

It is a little hard. I am not sure if your pre-op was like mine (2 shakes and a 350 cal dinner with salad)

What I did was break up my shakes so that I drank less more often. Basically, I was drinking a 4 oz shake in every 2.5 hours and in between drinking lots of Water and crystal lite.

Try that and see if it works for you. Also, you may want to get a variety of shake flavors as you may get tired of one particular flavor quickly.

Thanks everyone for all your comments. I really appreciate the feedback! This is so hard but I can't wait for the surgery.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
