Do your feet really shrink?

Recommended Posts

Hate to break it to you but you'd best start parting with some t make room for a smaller size. :D

It seems to happen for most. I have gone down half a size so far and that size is starting to get loose.

I am such a shoe hoarder that my husband built me a shoe wall in our basement. I can give away clothes, but my shoes it will be hard.

I would think they could shrink. Before kids and gaining weight I was a size 8-8.5, now I'm a 10.5-11 :(

This will be interesting...I have flat feet and have been a size 10 since I was 10 years old (apparently Bigfoot is a distant relative). Over the past year, I have felt more comfortable in a 10.5 or 11...I would LOVE to be smaller than a 10, because, although the time has passed where shoe stores would only get one size 10 in each style, shoes just look so much cuter in a smaller size (like clothes do!) :-)

I am a size 10/11...my tens had gotten too small for a few years...now I am back in them. I think it is just the swelling is gone now where my diet is different now. I am 5'10"...my feet are not going to shrink, but they have stopped the every day swelling out of my shoe...

Oh, I so wish I hadn't been able to part with mine. I hadn't been able to wear them for years & my foot size has grown so figured it was a lost cause keeping my closet cluttered for no reason. I'm just sick about giving them up. Of course, now it's been about 10 years since I gave them up, but you know, they were classic shoes, so they never go out of style. I adored them but there is no way I can ever afford another pair. I had bought 2 pair when I was single & then my husband bought me another 2 pair for my birthday one year. My first two pair were from the Beverly Hills store on Rodeo Drive....I used to work in B.H. when I lived in CA, so I'd go on my lunch & window shopped (& saved a lot) till I could afford my first pair!! They were as comfy as sneakers & soooooo pretty!

Hey! Maybe I'll start saving now & by the time I get to goal, I will buy myself another pair! Yeah...right. For some reason, now that I'm a Mom, I can't even make myself spend that kind of money on just shoes. Good luck going shopping for yours!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
