I have a goal shirt. I ought it in 2001 when I tried losing my weight by myself. I fell in love with that shirt. Over a decade later, it still hangs in my closet, and i pray that I can wear it again some day.

I have a pair of jeans that I bought last time I lost weight that never quite fit...but I never reached goal last time. I can't wait until they fit and then are too big!

I am most looking forward to buying new swimsuits for vacation next year. I may even go for a bikini for the first time ever.

My first goal is to just get back into my size 14s without them being skin tight! Then getting under a size 12. I don't think I've wore anything smaller than a 12 since elementary school! I will be strutting my stuff if I get into single digits!!! Haha!!

If buying a "goal" outfit will help motivate you I say, why not? For myself I don't know what size I'll be exactly so I will shopping as I go along in my weight loss journey. I'm already down from a 24/26 W to 18/20 W. (The W stands for Woman not Wide LOL!) I've been fat my whole life and I'm also very tall 6'1" so I think I'll end up a normal size 14 approx.

pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274

I don't have a specific goal outfit, but I'd love to wear a two piece swim suit. My ultimate goal is just to get to a 10/12, but even lower would be amazing!

I bought a goal outfit last September, my surgery was in August last year. I wore the purple shirt in April, but the jeans (Size 8) did not fit til now, and I'm still 33 lbs from my own personal goal. I have them on in my newest pics "May 2013 9 Months Post Op" Folder. They're the ONLY pair of skinny jeans I ever owned, I was surprised that even not at goal they don't look bad. I realize now that I will go below a size 8, but it kept me on track with the gym. So, although you might surpass your outfit, it's just one outfit, why not, if it will keep you motivated. Best of luck with your journey. I just realized the pic is also on the first page of my profile as my 'after' pic.

Yes I did this all the way along my journey and I still am!

I had a goal dress for size 16 that I don't have a pic of.

This was my size 14 goal dress :

This was my size 12 goal dress:

Now that I'm into my size 12 dress I'm buying a 10 or 8 tomorrow!! Yayyyy!!!

I think that having a goal outfit is a great way to stay motivated to exercise and eat healthy!

I didn't buy my goal outfit till I was at goal. First of all, I'm very picky and some things that look great on a hanger don't look great when I try them on. Secondly, wasn't sure about the timeframe for goal. I got to goal in winter so I bought knee high boots and a small Bracelet. I also bought a nice skirt and a few jackets. While losing weight, I only bought as much as I needed and spent as little as possible, so at goal it was a real treat to buy some nicer things and more of them.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
