Please Help Me!

Recommended Posts

Hello! I am 24 yrs old weight is 226 I was approved for surgery May 19. Yey. However my surgeons office submitted the request to a hospital out of town which is wanting me to pay half my out of pocket which is $500 plus $200 deductible. Plus traveling & hotel I am looking at $900 before surgery. There is a credited hospital about 15 min away from that by doctors come I would have to only pay the $200 before surgery. If I tell my surgeons office to change hospitals they would have to cancel my current approval & resubmit & I could be denied!! I am stuck bc I do not want to get denied but $900 is alot for me to come up with at this time. What would u do if u were me???

Please help.

I need to tell them by tomorrow

Just do it. Why would you be denied if you we're already accepted? Save your self some money

U can go to a bank or credit union for a loan or most hospitals do financing right there for u... I'm sure you can say you can afford like $50-$100/per month and they can work with you on the term of the loan

I don't know? I was told this by my doctors office & the insurance. The insurance company said bc a different person would be reviewing my case & the dr office said bc my BMI was barley 40. That's a $500 difference.

I never thought about asking the hospital. When I spoke to there billing department they were so rude. I asked if I could come with $250 which is half of the $500 they said no, I even asked for hardship and they done offer til after surgery when I already paid them. Ill look into the financing see what they say. Thank u.

Maybe this depends on your insurance? I was approved for surgery and acutally changed my mind on the hospital a week before surgery and the scheduler at my surgeons office just told me that they had to call the insurance and make sure that the hospital was covered under my plan and that was it, I had no issues of being denied or having my approval taken from me. I would suggest to call your insurance yourself and ask. The only reason I have heard a hospital is not covered is when they are not Bariatric Certified. Best of Luck to you!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
