I dont now bout Carle Hospital...but I do know that several people from that area come here to Peoria for their surgery...Peoria Surgical group is amazing and we have a wonderful support system here. I will be heading to the hospital in a few mins to get my sleeve done by Dr. Marshal....

Has anyone gone through the doctors at Carle Hospital in Champaign' date='Illinois?[/quote']

Not sure if I'm doing this right as its my first post. I'm having my surgery at Carle in july. So far I have been very impressed with the program and all the members of the team that I will work with before, during, and after the surgery. I'm pretty critical so a "very impressed" from me is pretty high praise. My surgeon is Dr Rowitz.

So far I was amazed how quickly things have moved. I had my three of appointments done within 12 days. Im just waiting of the finial reports so we can set a date.

This is great to hear. Mine will be on Sept 4th 10 weeks from first meeting him. The process for me has been extremely easy so far and with out a long wait.

I also saw Dr White. He was wonderful we were joking around in the meeting and he had an answer right away for me. This is one department at Carle I can say it's been great working with. You cant say that about every department at Carle.

I had a great meeting with Dr. Rowitz, back in May. I have to do the supervised diet for insurance company and the team at Carle is great at making sure everything that is needed to be done I s completed during that time. I am 2 months from completing my diet and then we will schedule surgery for December. At this point I have lost about 10 pounds on the diet

This has been a great week... almost to the end of the supervised diet.... down a pant size and got the approval from the psych consult... now to wait until Nov and we will schedule my surgery date.

At this point I have completed my journey down the yellow brick road. I have completed the 6 month supervised diet, the psych eval went great, and I have done the gross but needed barium swallow. NOW all I am waiting on is for the authorization to come through from insurance. SURGERY date is set for JAN 15th UNLESS they get an opening during Dec. At this point I have lost 25 lbs during the supervised diet. I started out at 349lbs and am currently down to 323 lbs. :) Not a big drop but a noticeable change.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
