Do your shopping for liquids and everything you need prior to the hospital. Take comfy clothes as you really will need to walk walk walk and sip sip sip. Even when you don't feel like it. My biggest problem was gas. And walking is all that helped. Believing that all will go well with you!! Keep me updated! Blessings!!! ~ Melody

I'm 5'6 and started at 230 so BMI of 37. I've lost 7 lbs on less than a week of pre-op, but of course the issue is keeping the weight off. Every time I lose it, a year later, I regain it along with 15 of its friends so I keep getting fatter and fatter after each loss. It's hard to believe there may be something that will get me off the roller coaster. So excited!

I am so overwhelmed that I just want to throw the towel in and say forget it. I have the worst insurance on the planet. Has droped under 35 and with the being said I dont think now I will get approved. My primary care doctor messed up on my medical nec. paper and said my highest weight was 193....HECK NO! I wish that was my highest weight my highest was 212! I stay right around 190-212. im 203 now and instead of not counting my .5 on my height they are counting me as 5'4" I have always went by 5'3" oh well.....i think Im just over the waiting game and im getting discouraged....idk.. If insurance doesnt cover me I really want o go to Dr. Ortiz.....what a handsome man and I love his stats. I dont know him but in my gut I really feel comfortable about him. Good luck to you Kieshart

Just checking in with my fellow low bmi people and giving support to those who are unsure about this journey.

I like so many others have tried every other diet there is. Lol including the cabbage Soup diet!! ( GAG!!!!) I have ridden the yo-yo for years. I was so so tired of it.

So here I am. I started this sleeved journey May 22nd,2013. I am 5 6" weighed 218 and had a bmi of 35.2

Some friends thought I was crazy to do this. But they are not me and weren't struggling like I was. And now here it is only 2 months later and I am weighing in at 178 and a bmi of 28.7!!!! I can finally say by the bmi standards that I am no longer considered obese. I am considered overweight. That was a huge goal for me!! I still can't believe that I am down 40 pounds!! I love my sleeve and I have no regrets in getting it done.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
