Sleeved May 15 and Regretting it

Recommended Posts

First of all, I'm sorry your family is not being understanding and supportive, I was sleeved March 18th 2013, I too, had regrets. There were times when I said to myself "what have I done to myself" But please trust me when I say, it does get better! I felt alone and a stranger to my own family. My husband refused to take me out to eat because it was a waste of money. It took me and my family some time to adjust to the fact that the old me ( as far as eating) was gone.... Which made me sad too. But now after time has passed, we as a family and me as a person has adjusted and accepted my new tummy. We go out to eat on occasion, I just come home with a lot of leftover's.. It truly is a learning process, but more for me, it was a whole new mental process when it came to food! I will keep you in my prayers, and I know in time you will be in a better place. I still have times when I miss food and wish that I could eat more and enjoy food the way I used to. But those times are fewer and fewer as the months pass. I wish you nothing but success and happiness!!! Jesus keep

Awww I really appreciate your words. Things are slightly better, but something is something. Things are definitely way different than I had ever thought they would be, but I am learning to adjust :)

My doctor said that for the full liquid phase 2 diet you can take Soups or chili and put it in the blender or magic bullet and puree it down to a completely liquid Fluid consistency.

I am the same...I've always gotten some form of gratification from watching cooking shows, during recipes on the internet and reading cookbooks.....

That's what my wife did when I was in my liquid phase. It made the final few days tolerable and quick to pass.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
