The absolute WORST thing you can eat this early out is popcorn!

It is not that it's not good for you. But it is dangerous at this point!!

If you think it will be to hard for you to smell it..

I get it I was sleeved right before Thanks Giving!

I skipped it because I just couldn't be around the food that early :(

It gets better just hang in there let yourself heal and all will be good :)

I would agree Im still pre op but have read on here the issues with not being able to digest the hull, I woulnt even lick it either...toughen up butter cup this is just the 1st of many things you will have to turn down, take a Protein Shake and enjoy the time out of the house

Don't go and remember you can have it just not now. That will is what kept me sane through all of this. You will go to the movies and get to have popcorn. Just not yet, you want to heal well and stay safe. Don't do it stay strong :)

SonnysWuv

so you want tough love???

here goes

are you kidding me, even thinking about having popcorn at one week PO

licking butter salt off? OMG

per different docs/NUTS you must wait til your tummy heals more

my doc told me 3 months!!!!

i would give the men bonding time at the movies

sounds like for you (me too back at one week PO)its hard to deal with the yummy smells :(

enough tough love??? ;)

hope you know i was only "following" your directions about trying and talk you out of the popcorn??

i would NEVER yell at you - or anyone else

hmmmm - maybe at DH !!!!

take care bud

I LOVE popcorn and have enjoyed it several times. But NOT NOW for you, it's just too soon. Let the guys go for some bonding time, or do something else....that you can all do. There will be plenty of time for popcorn. But start getting it in your head now, that you will have to limit yourself because popcorn is a carb and a slider food which can lead us down that ugly path. Best of Luck!!

Hey, I love popcorn, too! And since I'm in MX for 3 more days before I can go home, we've been to the theater TWICE. And oh my gosh, this is a fancy theater and they have some kind of delicious smelling caramel popcorn!

I simply told myself "Not now, later" and it's not worth the TRUE health risk it poses right now. Still enjoyed the movies. Drank my Protein Drink while hubby ate his M&Ms. LOL

My advice would be just be... Don't do it. In fact, I would avoid even going to the movie. But that's me. I know if I had gone at 6 says post op, I would've been miserable and irritated.

I did go see Iron man at about 2 weeks out and I bought myself a frozen yogurt. Didn't even want the popcorn. The yogurt filled me up and I was content.

I'm four weeks out now so I'd probably still do the yogurt. In the future I plan to allow myself a small bag of popcorn with no butter.

But anyways, try to avoid it. At 6 days post op, you are in the hardest part of the craving time. I wanted everything and anything at that time. It'll be hard to resist tasting that popcorn!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
