Have to delay surgery by one week.

Recommended Posts

Found out today I have to wait 15 days from today to borrow from my 401k (that's how I'm paying for surgery) and that will not be until June 3rd or so and that's when I was hoping to go to Mexico.

I cannot remember how long it takes to get the money in the mail from my 401k so I have decided to wait and try to go to Mexico June 10th. I also plan on using that money for my down payment so I hope I can get a surgery date that next week lol.

I'm also working on my passport and hopefully that extra week wait will be long enough to get my passport.

Which surgeon are you going to?

I don't know! I still cannot decide lol! It's between Aceves and Garcia. I really want Aceves because I've not read anything bad about him plus it's in an actual hospital, but at the same time I want Garcia because he's cheaper and I've only read bad things about the nurses, not him.

I did go apply for my passport today. They are saying I won't get it until June 14th, but I'm hoping its earlier than that. I didn't have the money to expedite it but I did overnight the application.

Olivia, I borrowed from y 401K last year, and for an extra $10.00 had the option to have it overnighted. Did you not have that option? I hate to see anyone have to postpone their surgery.

As far as surgeon choices go, they are both excellent doctors. Naturally, because Aceves did my surgery, I tend to lean towards him, lol.

I'm pretty sure I have that option. I had to delay it because I already had a loan from them and I paid it off early a few days ago. I forgot I had to wait to borrow from them for at least 15 days.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
