what are some easy ways of getting protein in

Recommended Posts

So add a little not the whole scoop? I been adding a whole scoop & it makes everything watery not good 2 me

Added to suit your taste. I usually add a half scoop to yogurt or cottage cheese, but you may find a different amount works better for you. Remember, any extra will help, especially if you can add that little bit several times a day.

If you are allowed coffee, you can add half a scoop of Protein powder into an 8 ounce cup of coffee. It's DELISH!

Also one of my favorite things is cottage cheese/jello mousse

puree a cup of cottage cheese in a blender to get out the bumps. Make sugar free Jello (I use 1/2 cup boiling Water and 1.5 cups cold Water it works just fine) pour liquid Jello in blender with the cottage cheese.. blend on high.. A bit of unflavored Protein Powder can be added as well for an extra boost.. It's a nice dessert.

These are all fantastic ideas. I just wanted to share something with everyone that I experienced tonight.

So there was Protein in unexpected places...

Hubby took me out on a date tonight. We went out for Thai food. I don't know of any good Thai places in SD but we chose one and we ordered the seafood Tom Yum Soup. I have had this before and it is delicious. I had some broth and he had the full Soup. It was all good until I was almost done with my cup and noticed all sorts of things floating around in it. Ground chili's, oil, fish remnants from the stock, and wait... what is this I see?? a bug. OMG.. a bug... ew. It looked like a roach. I felt ill immediately. Hubby was trying to calm me down so I wouldn't puke. Thankfully I didn't. But he did....LOL

Does anyone think this is a coincidence when this is on our news? http://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/health/UN-Wants-You-to-Eat-More-Bugs-207277711.html

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
