I have not skipped any but had several months of very light ones or starting and stopping...

But you have had a significant drop in weight fast so it might affect it more... It might be worth talking to the doctor about though.

My first period after surgery came very late. My second period didn't come until I'd missed almost three cycles! It took me over six months before things started normalizing. I think it's fairly common because your hormones are all over the place during weight loss.

I think the fat that your losing has lots of stored hormones that are now being released into your system. Those hormones are now messing up your periods, moods, etc. Having a major surgery alone is stress enough on a body. Then having extra hormones released from the fat loss is causing chaos on your body. I'm not a medical professional, but I would think a irregular periods would be normal for a few months, but if you are really concerned, maybe a doctors visit is needed.

I've read that excessive weight loss/gain will have an effect on the menstruation cycle and especially on your mood. WebMD has an article about this.

My surgery was 1/28/2013 and I have only had a light period about 12 days after and none since. I even took a pregnancy test at the last doctor visit. He said pretty normal after the procedure.

I haven't had any real problems this time, but when I lost a large amount of weight before, I had about 18 months of very few/irregular periods. They say that when your body is losing a significant amount of weight, it impacts your hormones, which in turn, impacts your periods. I once heard that your body is in "self-protection" mode when you are losing large amounts of weight quickly, and it knows that it is not a safe time to get pregnant. Who knows - but I do know that your hormones are all wacky at the moment, which is bound to create changes.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
