Hi Saskatoon ladies ,

I kind of lost touch since last week but life is busy.

I start my 21 day pre-op liquid diet tomorrow... Holy sheet :) that means surgery is in 22 days!!! I went shopping and bought absolutely everything I need for this as well as the items I will need post-op. I also bought items that are healthy and easy to cook for my family. I think that's going to be the tough part. Being a stay at home mom with a hungry little guy might be trying during this journey.

The only thing that hinders me most days is my weight... Not being able to fit in my clothes right and finding pregnancy pants comfy is a huge problem... Yup my little guy is almost 19 months... Why am I still wearing them!!!!! I don't suffer from any sickness and I'm not out of breath going up a flight of stairs. But for how long??

I'm 31 years old, and stand 5'7

Highest weight 334

Current weight 322

Goal weight 160

I have a long way to go, and so much life to live.

As you might already know, I'm getting Sleeved by Dr.Alvarez July 5th. So here is to getting my overly large ass in shape and being the best I can be!!!!!

Hi there, I was wondering how your experience was with Dr Pompa? I am looking into this surgery and I'm a bit nervous.

It was great! I had a really positive experience and still go to support group meetings regularity... Hardest part for me has been the mental mind games I play on my self regarding food. Everyday I have to make a conscious effort to eat right but its payed off.. Down 104lbs and feel great! For some reason it doesn't show me that others posted here so sorry for the late response. I would be glad to answer any other questions although it may be quicker if you PM me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
