shaky after workouts, why?

Recommended Posts

I've been working out steadily for about 2 weeks now, every day, then suddenly about 3 days ago, I started getting shaky after working out. It did coincide with A) coming down with something don't know what exactly, and B) adding weights. Anyway, after a workout now, if I hold my hands out in front of me, they shake, I can barely hold my arms over the keyboard to type right now. whats up?

I get that from time to time as well. Not sure, but curious about any ideas someone may have. If it's from a very intense long workout....could it be due to depleted glycogen?

Getting sick + higher weights/reps will zap your glucose stores quicker. I've passed out enough times in the gym to vouch for low blood sugar being to blame...and I'm not a diabetic. In addition, hydration (as always) is important for metabolism and blood pressure regulation. Lastly, if it's after an intense workout...your muscles, joints, and nerves sending signals are in a state of shock. This is a good thing, as you must stress the body for any physical restructuring to occur, but can also be a sign of "I did too much."....the healing process is what makes us stronger/faster and you must allow time between workouts for that to occur.

My advice....stay hydrated, juice or fruit prior and after the workout (it doesn't take much), back off the intensity/duration/frequency if you're constantly having muscle/shakiness issues, and avoid workouts when ill...you'll do more harm than good in the short term. My 2 cents.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
