I was sleeved January 2013 and have been stuck at the same weight for months :( I have written on here to seek some advice and I have tried the suggestions I've gotten. More Protein and Water, less protein, no more Protein Shakes etc. I have mixed up my exercise routine...tracked what I eat etc...no luck or change. I was losing inches but thats stopped too. I am so upset, discouraged, frustrated and desperate :( I am a self pay so I don't have a Dr. to discuss this with. I have spoken to my family Dr. who said she can't help me....so not what I wanted to hear right now.

I have met with a nutritionist who said I'm eating pretty well, she'd like me to eat more but I take in what I can. I think I'm broken mentally and physically :( I sure as s*it wasn't expecting this !

Canadian Chick,

You ain't broken.

If you are losing inches, you will lose pounds. Could you give us a monthly weights, and maybe the smart ones can comment. I'm not smart, but I AM supportive. Keep on keeping on and it'll get better. As Winston Churchill said; "Never, Never, Never Give Up"

Inches is great too, don't fully rely on weight, you need muscle and your thinner,

At one point a new jump start with adding best I could a load of carbs while still watching for calories and that made weight losses start again, the second was stopping milk and cheese and started a jump into losses again, now I am going to go in reverse to pre sugery way and just get Nutri system meals so as not to have to calculate in hope of losing as much as I did with it beofre and there for reaching a lowest goal weight. I'll use my own Protein combo shake with it though, it has a high calorie shake I want to have better one for morings in with it.

with another 40 pounds, I think I'll feel secure after in slower weight loss and stop constarints of the day to day week weigh ins.

Also in AM, I drink allot of Water and nothing else for a long while, don't run to food first thing or late in the vening.

That final leg will about 40 more pounds, leaves me another 25 to 40 I can safley lose coming years with good judgement and healthier diet. I have lost over slight away of 100 pounds in 5 months and also 50ish or so but several more pounds up and down for pre surgery for years time or so when I used Nutri system men's plan.

Good luck,

also, I tried added running and walking, that made weight fluxtuate and some times even go higher for a bit, but it helped I guess also, I am so much the more adgile this weight and with some exercising. The running thins you out very well even if weight remains the inches blow off quicker.

Toss the scale and just focus on working out. Start working on building muscle. The more muscle you have to more calories your burn. Muscle takes up less space than fat so you will get leaner. Work on building muscle every other day on the days you don't weight lift do cardio. It will take about a month for your body to adjust so be patient (your weight wil fluctuate because of Water may even gain but it is muscle). Make sure you drink more Water and get your Protein in. Protein is essential for building muscle. I went to 24 hour fitness and got a trainer to show me how to use the equipment properly. Pricy but worth it. I hope this is helpful to you.

Don't let this stall derail your hard work. Take care.

I sent you a personal message as well but my best advice at this point is to keep on keeping on. I don't agree with throwing out your scale because personally I see too many people backsliding with they are not having the accountability of weighing in on some kind of regular basis. Different strokes for different folks though, I understand we are all different but that just concerns me when people talk about doing that when they are already not getting results.

Most likely you are experiencing a normal stall. Don't let this depression grip you.

I'm a month ahead of you and I had months with out loss, also. Just hang in there and concentrate on sticking with healthy eating and eventually lbs will sneak off. Some of us are extremely slow losers regardless of what we do.

Thank you Arts137 for the support :) I started at 265lbs I lost 21lbs pre op and I lost 14lbs within the first two weeks after surgery. I have however been stalled ever since. I did lose some inches but that stopped maybe a month or so ago too :(

JKG I am trying to mix it up...more Protein, less Protein etc...

Angeliclady I am pretty active, as much as I can be for now...I walk at work on my lunch, I have a treadmill and I use my excercise ball.

Daybyday thank you for the advice I may have to try that next :)

Nursegrace, I will check out the message you sent me...thank you for the support :)

Ms. Antiband thank you too for the support :)

I will keep trying to figure it all out...it does get exhausting after a while, but it is really nice to have some really good supportive people on here. THANK YOU !!!

I don't know if this will help you but I will share what I did to get a boost on my weight loss journey..

I would take 13 gal size trash bag (like you use in the kitchen) and cut the bottom out of it and slip it

on covering my but to just under my breast then I'd take a sweat band and wrap it around my waist (to kinda hold up the bag)or tuck it under your bra.

But, having the plastic directly on my skin. I would walk for 30 min every day with Sunday being my (free day).

Once I finished I would take off the bag and literally a cup or sometimes a glass of Water would drain out the bag. I know

its gross but it worked this is what i used to get me past my hump. I hope it can help you too. let me know :) good luck....

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
