I was sleeved June 10th and I was feeling so good yesterday!! Today I decided to go into work for 3 hours. (I am a wound nurse) And let me tell you. I am now exhausted!! I think I am gonna take a nap and relax now. I really thought I would be ok with returning to work, but nope! I even had an aide come in so I did not have to push/pull/lift patients. I am waiting on my energy to come back!

About 3 weeks before my surgery I went to the dentist and discovered I had an infection under a crown. The dentist said I should get the infection out before surgery or it could cause problems. I had the tooth pulled the very next day. Thankfully I had time to deal with it. I agree for your health and safety you need to talk to your doctor.

Hello All,

I was sleeved 6/13 and have been doing well. More sore than painful. Someone mentioned spasms. I think that's what I have. Can someone give any advice? When I drink there's a quick gas pain in my chest and after the liquid goes down the spasm stops. Should I call the Doc?

I was sleeved the 10th. I am having the exact same quick pain/spasm as you. It sounds like others are having the same issue somewhat. I will say 5 days out it is MUCH easier and lesser now than it was even two days ago so I think it is normal :)

Thanks so very much! I was concerned bc it feels so weird. Like a tummy growl coupled with gas pain. I'm also taking liquid lortab and trying my best to sit up versus laying down.

Sounds like the gas pains to me. I had constant heaviness in my chest. Day 3 I thought I was having a heart attack, day 5 much better. When I would take too big a sip I would get that painful "stuck" feeling until it finally moved down. Walking and gas x strips helped me a lot.

I was amazed that I *didn't* have gas pains this time around (I previously had a LapBand and LapBand removal - bad gas pains both times). I flew through recovery other than being tired! I'm 8 days post-op now and looking forward to work on Monday ;).

I bought them at a store called "The Vitamin Shoppe" . They are in glass bottles. Run about $4.00 but sooooo worth it! Each bottle has 40 grams of protein.my favs are cocnut, blue raspberry & grape frost. I mix the blue with half leomade crystal lite and LOVVVE IT! I drink on the bottle through out the day. I start with my blender glass filled with ice and keep adding ice as it melts or Crystal light. I get my Protein and Water in this way! Lovvve it.

$4.00 sorry. I think you can get them at GNC as well even on Amazon.com. I tried every flavor to find my favorite. The ones I thought I'd like, I ended up hating. I thought coconut would be gross, but eneded up being one of my favs!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
