Did your feet get softer?

Recommended Posts

I have had hard calloused feet as long as I can remember. I have tried so many different moisturizers. . If I use pumice or a file, it gets smoothe but comes back within a few days. Also if I get rid of the callouses, my feet get more sore from walking. So I am thinking the callouses are actually a defense against the weight. Have your feet gotten softer as you have dropped weight?

I also get blisters from almost any dressy shoes, on the sides of my heels because my ankles are so fat.

No the weight loss has not helped my callouses at all. I get pedicures every 3 months but 1 week after they are thick and hurt again. Just the way it will be forever for me.

Some callousing is good it protects your feet from wear & tear by shoes & does cushion the delicate bony areas.

Callousing along the side of your big toe or little toe is of concern & could be caused by over pronation or improper positioning of your foot as it hits the ground.

I personally use a thick lotion and lube up my feet and then put socks on & sleep with the lotion being careful about walking when I wake up. It leaves my feet nicely moisturized.

I personally get pedicures 1x a month & they do use a paraffin dip and then a callous remover cream with a pumace stone that I bring with me.

I warn against them using ped egg or the razor to shave the extra callous off. You will find that if they really go for it then you are more prone to getting blisters and then are benched from the treadmill/ elliptical.

If your callous is very thick & or cracking try going to a podiatrist who can assess your skin/feet & make the proper recommendations.

Thanks for the advice. The worst callous is at the front of the ball of my foot, right behind my second and third toe. The edges of my heels look crusty too.

Have you been checked for diabetes?? and I second the suggestion of seeing a podiatrist.

Hope you get some relief soon.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
